How to change IP from router?

I have a router - Linksys WRT120N, and I am connecting my laptop to t with wireless. Can I change the IP of he laptop and how?How to change IP from router?
To change you Public IP (which is the ip from your modem. The ip that people see you as on the internet) you change the mac address on the router. This causes the modem usually to switch ip address. (this works for most cable modems.)

To change you ip on your laptop (such as 192.168.1.xxx)

then in windows open up network hardware and right click properties. then select the IPv4 and click properties. Under the properties, deselct ';let windows choose for me'; and enter a desired ip. (note that you router has a specific range. meaning that it will only take numbers from 192.168.1.101 to 128 usually.)

the other stuff is as follows

subnet mask 255.255.255.0

default gateway 192.168.1.1(router ip)

prefered DNS 192.168.1.1 (router ip)

alternative DNS 192.168.1.100 (router ip)How to change IP from router?
Why do you think you want to change the IP address of your laptop? Odds are, changing the IP address the laptop uses to communicate with the router will do nothing useful for you. (Are you really trying to change the IP address the router uses to communicate with he rest of the world?)
You could also try resetting your modem. Shut it off and unplug it for 10 minutes. This sometimes re-assigns an IP to you.

Good luck!
