Sadly mine is connected through a usb port but if you open

printers and faxes from the start menu or control panel and highlight the printer then right click and select ';properties';

Then select the ports tab, you should have a button to configure ports.

Mine is disabled as it's USB but if yours is connected to the router it should have an ip address to play with.How to manually change IP address on hp Inkjet 2800?
You should be able to print a configuration page from the printer to give you it's current ip address (e.g. 192.168.1.50). If you pc has an ip address in the same range ( e.g. 192.168.1.32) then you can open a web page and go to the printers configuration page by typing http://192.168.1.50 in the web address bar. You can configure the ip settings from here.

Otherwise, you can do it manually from the printer itself.
There must be a way as you can't fix the IP for every printer that is made.

I have only done this on a laserjet so I don't know if it will work as i don't know this inkjet.

if you have a display you should do it from there. Goto com or network and using the up down arrows select what you want. one will be the IP address.

I hope this helps, good luck
