Why does my wifi router keep changing Ip address?

i cant afford having my ip address change all the time.

i do many things with external devices that hook up to a certain IP address..

anyone knows how to keep my ip address stable. Why does my wifi router keep changing Ip address?
Go into your router setup and look for an option called ';static reservation';. What this does is lets you lock the IP address for one or all of ';your'; external devices. It has nothing to do with your ISP assigning you an IP by DHCP. It's that your router is assigning different IP's to your Xbox, printer, PS3, or whatever. You can reserve an IP for each device, so that device's IP never changes. Why does my wifi router keep changing Ip address?
That's the nature of DHCP. If you don't like it, pay your ISP for a static address (if they offer it).

Otherwise, forget using IP addresses %26amp; sign up with a dynamic DNS service and use DNS names instead.
Subscribe to a STATIC IP address from your ISP.

Or register a domain name and subscribe to Dynamic DNS.
you will need to pay extra money to your isp for a static ip address
